By Road - The Oxfordshire Cotswolds is easily accessed by the A34, M40 and A40.

By Bus - There are good services to and from Oxford and London at very good prices. However, being a small country village arriving by car is easiest. The village does have bus connections but they are infrequent.

By Rail -The closest Train station is Shipton (6.4 Miles) but services to this station are infrequent. A much more frequent Train service runs from London to Oxford and Charlbury, both are about a 30 minute drive or Taxi away. The best place to hire a car from is Oxford.

The Chestnuts - Shilton is well located on the eastern side of The Cotswolds and is easy to reach by road. The official address is Chestnut Tree Cottage, Bridge Street, Shilton, Oxon, OX184AB.

It is about one and a half hour's drive from three major airports - Heathrow, (London), Bristol and Birmingham.

Shilton lies just a few miles to the south of Burford, in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds and is just off the A40 via the B4020 Burford to Farringdon Rd (Shilton Rd) or the A361 Burford to Lechlade road. Whichever way you come into the village (which is well signposted) you will find The Rose and Crown Inn - The Chestnuts is directly opposite.
