What The Press
Say About Our Cottages
Eco-luxury and style are the main selling points for this well equipped,
chic and family friendly Cotswold Gem. While it is conveniently
located near several large attractions, you may simply want to stay put
and enjoy the pretty garden. With plenty of scope for privacy, its ideal
for groups. When it's cold, curl up by the wood-burner in the main
sitting room and play a board game. When the weather is fair the
garden has lots of outdoor seating. - The Chestnuts -The Telegraph Travel

What You Say about The Chestnuts
Thank you so much for creating The Chestnuts as the most perfect holiday
cottage. The family consisted of great Granny (85) down to baby Jasper
(2 months), Mum and Dad, Grandma and Granddad and single Uncle - who
loved the Bose sound system. As we prepared for a family wedding, Mum
was able to make the wedding cake, Grandma loved the incredibly well
equipped kitchen, as we hosted supper parties for relatives, uncle was
impressed with the BBQ and our two year old appreciated the childrens books and
we looked for something that you would have at home our comment was
always 'this is the sort of cottage where they would have thought of
that'. Examples included Grandma looking for a radio in the kitchen (I
always listen to Women's Hour when cooking) which of course was there,
to the last minute panic of getting ready for the wedding and needing
safety pins (naturally they were there and easily found!) Great
showers, fabulous products in the bathrooms, gorgeous fluffy robes,
comfy beds and sumptuous pillows. I think you may have worked out that
we loved The Chestnuts and we would love to come back.
delight. A fantastic few days with lots of walking, eating, sleeping,
talking, laughing ...couldn't ask for anything better. The cottage is
perfect, difficult to leave the blazing log fire...think we will have to
take it with us.
Sensational cottage to spend Christmas. We loved the stylish
decorations, winter walks and enjoyed a few of the fantastic nearby
place to spend New Year, memorable points - the blazing log burner,
sharp global knives; we needn't have brought one of ours, an all time
1st!, Very Comfortable beds, kids slept in everyday.
so much for an absolutely amazing weekend The Cottage is beautiful and
we loved all the finishing touches.
amazing, welcoming cottage. We have all had the most relaxed, enjoyable
and comfortable stay we could have wished for...and now we don't want to
go home. Every comfort and facility has given so much thought. The
village is gorgeous, the views wonderful and the pub very atmospheric.
As a group who love to cook and entertain, your kitchen is equipped with
the most impressive array of tools and aids we have ever known. Can't
wait to come back.
little touches make such a difference, everything is amazing quality and
the bathtub is the best i've soaked in!
thoughtfully put together space to come and stay.
Sad to be
leaving today after a lovely relaxing week. The cottage is beautiful -
we have spent a lot of time on the floor with our crawling baby and the
under-floor heating was much enjoyed. Visited Witney, Burford and The
Cotswold Wildlife Park (brilliant).
comfortable, cosy stay, in a gorgeous well stocked house. The swan was
lovely, very welcoming and child-friendly. The kids had a whale of a
stay in a really well resourced cottage.
- if the cottage goes missing - we have it.
- What can I say? We had such a fantastic time at The Chestnuts. Everyone loved
it - adults and children alike.
design, decor, furnishings and garden are stunning. The white washed walls and
stone make it such a relaxing environment. Even though we were 10 people, the
rooms/ garden seating areas are so well organised that we never felt on top of
each other. You could have a few people reading in the living area while others
were cooking or enjoying a glass of wine in the garden. Our every need was
anticipated. We really cannot think of anything to change or improve.
This is easily
one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in.
another fantastic long weekend. This was our first stay at The Chestnuts and we
loved the cottage. We thought Culls Cottage was amazing when we stayed there
last year. We are fussy guests but we had everything we needed, which makes a
stay so much more enjoyable. The food and welcome at The Rose and Crown pub in
the village was superb.
our fourth year of booking an Autumn break at one of your cottages and
it's my favourite weekend of the year.
