What You Say

Absolutely lovely cottage, we liked the eye for detail that has been evident in all the 'little touches' in the cottage. Really comfortable beds. We did a lovely walk from Lechlade along The Thames and visited the Westonbirt Arboretum.

What a delight. A fantastic few days with lots of walking, eating, sleeping, talking, laughing ...couldn't ask for anything better. The cottage is perfect, difficult to leave the blazing log fire...think we will have to take it with us.

Really Sensational cottage to spend Christmas. We loved the stylish decorations, winter walks and enjoyed a few of the fantastic nearby pubs.

Lovely place to spend New Year, memorable points - the blazing log burner, sharp global knives; we needn't have brought one of ours, an all time 1st!, Very Comfortable beds, kids slept in everyday.

A really thoughtfully put together space to come and stay.

Sad to be leaving today after a lovely relaxing week. The cottage is beautiful - we have spent a lot of time on the floor with our crawling baby and the under-floor heating was much enjoyed. Visited Witney, Burford and The Cotswold Wildlife Park (brilliant).

Very comfortable, cosy stay, in a gorgeous well stocked house. The swan was lovely, very welcoming and child-friendly. The kids had a whale of a time.

A lovely stay in a really well resourced cottage.

Stunning - if the cottage goes missing - we have it.

Guest comment - What can I say? We had such a fantastic time at The Chestnuts. Everyone loved it - adults and children alike.

The interior design, decor, furnishings and garden are stunning. The white washed walls and stone make it such a relaxing environment. Even though we were 10 people, the rooms/ garden seating areas are so well organised that we never felt on top of each other. You could have a few people reading in the living area while others were cooking or enjoying a glass of wine in the garden. Our every need was anticipated. We really cannot think of anything to change or improve.

This is easily one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in.

Once again another fantastic long weekend. This was our first stay at The Chestnuts and we loved the cottage. We thought Culls Cottage was amazing when we stayed there last year. We are fussy guests but we had everything we needed, which makes a stay so much more enjoyable. The food and welcome at The Rose and Crown pub in the village was superb.

Featured as one of The Coolest Cottages in The Cotswolds

The Guardian Travel Section (Saturday 6/4/13) Inside the three bedroom property all is calmness and serenity, with flagstones floors, a woodburning stove, underfloor heating (one of several eco features) and clean white walls offset by exposed stone and wooden beams. If the setting is historic, the styling isn't. Furnishings are crisp and modern with a leaning towards luxury (wine glasses are Riedel, the kitchen is home to a Gaggia espresso machine, smellies are organic and there are toys and books for children, plus cot and high chair.
